Originally released on 1st March 1973 and sporting one of the most instantly recognisable record sleeves designed by Storm Thorgerson, Dark Side of The Moon set an audio benchmark for their peers using multi-track recording to layer up synthesiser washes, sound effects and the results of Roger Waters’ flashcard interrogation of Gerry the Irish doorman, Roger The Hat and a host of others.
