It’s been a good year so far for Del Amitri fans and it’s just got a whole lot better with news of a vinyl reissue of Twisted!
Originally released on A&M Records in February 1995, Twisted reached No 3 in the UK charts and spawned four Top 40 singles: Here And Now, Driving With The Brakes On, Roll To Me & Tell Her This – This re-issue faithfully replicates the original 1995 A&M UK release with gatefold sleeve, printed inner and poster and is pressed onto high quality 180g vinyl.
After the huge, consolidating success of 1992’s Waking Hours, Twisted was a confident return for Del Amitri, now comfortably established as one of the 90s most interesting, exhilarating groups. Although they were very much in another lane, it’s impossible not to hear the subtle influence they had on the-then current Britpop phenomenon with the chiming Start With Me and Never Enough. Elsewhere, first single Here With Me sounds like a great lost track from an early 70s rock album, and Driving With The Brakes On, and It Might As Well Be You underline how adept the group were with a ballad.
