The year is whizzing by and hey ho, it’s almost time for Record Store Day already and we’re delighted to be joining Holburn HiFi and their sister shop Glasgow Audio to bring the event to you in both Aberdeen and Glasgow! The event is split over two drops on 12th June and 17th July with about 540 releases and it’s the usual delirious mix of essential, obscure and downright weird stuff.
Some highlights from this year’s list include Scottish indie acts such as Belle & Sebastian, Garbage, Mogwai and Primal Scream, RSD regulars including The Cure, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Gorillaz, Lou Reed, Ocean Colour Scene, Supergrass, U2 and The Who, indies favourites from Durutti Column, Elastica, Fontaines DC, Suede and Bernard Butler, two long out of print Steely Dan albums, live sets from Love, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Police, The Sisters Of Mercy and Tears for Fears. And if that wasn’t enough there’s heaps of metal and heavy rock releases from AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Motorhead and MSG as well as jazz, blues and soul titles from Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, Albert Collins, Donny Hathaway and Ann Peebles.
So grab yourself a cuppa/beer and have a wade through. Make a list of stuff you’re interested in and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll do our best to have the right stuff on the drop days. If you’d like to keep up to speed with more info on the event why not join our RSD Facebook group or follow our RSD Twitter account?
We’ve included provisional prices for as many lines as we can but be aware, you may find these change before the event (hopefully in the downward direction).
